Wood cores

Our wood cores are carefully selected and configured to optimize board weight, strength, pop and flex. By changing which wood stringers we use – and where we position them – each board is tuned to meet the demands of the terrain and rider it's built for.  

Power Core

Powerful triple-density full wood core made from bamboo, paulownia and poplar. Central bamboo stringers enhance pop and torsional response for a high-energy, lightweight ride.

Fibers & Laminates

A crucial structural layer in any board, laminates are used to generate torsional and longitudinal stiffness. Jones boards are constructed with high-quality fibers, such as biax and triax fiberglass, naturally sourced flax and basalt fiber, and premium carbon fiber, reclaimed from the aerospace industry.        

Basalt Laminate [NEW]

Basalt fiber laminate configured at +45°/-45° in our [PRO] Series boards. Derived from volcanic rock, it delivers torsional response, stability and damping with greater stiffness-to-weight ratio than fiberglass, with the lively snap of carbon.

ampliTex™ Carbon / Flax Stringers

Hybrid performance stringer made from carbon and naturally sourced flax fiber, developed with Swiss engineering firm Bcomp®. The combination of carbon and flax fibers brings lively pop and response with vibration damping for a smoother ride.

Biax Fiberglass

Bases

All Jones adult models feature sintered bases. Every one is made with ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene for high wax absorption, superior speed and glide in all snow conditions and high-density impact resistance.        

Extruded 5000 Base

High-quality extruded base that's easy to repair and low maintenance to ride. Glides fast in all conditions and stays fast even without regular waxing. Made in Austria.

Sintered 8000 Base

Our classic topsheet, designed to withstand the realities of riding in the mountains. Proven ABS TPU construction stands up to day in, day out use in extreme conditions while dampening unwanted vibrations underfoot.

Sidewalls

All Jones boards are built using partially recycled ABS sidewalls.        

Recycled ABS Sidewalls

ABS sidewall made with 70% recycled materials. The rounded finish helps shield the topsheet from impacts that can cause chipping and delamination.

Edges

All Jones boards are built with partially recycled steel edges.

Steel Edges

Partially recycled German steel edges engineered for strength and reliable edge hold.

[ULTRALIGHT] Edges

Partially recycled German steel edges drawn to a thinner gauge for our [ULTRALIGHT] Series boards. Uses 28% less material than our standard edges to reduce weight.

Inner Thin Edges

Partially recycled German steel edges featured on the inner edges of our splitboards. Uses 19% less material than our standard edges to reduce overall board weight.

Resins

All Jones boards are made with our bio-based epoxy resin.

Durabond Bio-Epoxy [27]

Bio-based epoxy made with 27% plant-based carbon instead of petroleum-based carbon, sourced from co-products and waste products of plant-based industrial processes. Securely bonds the board layers together for a consistent flex from tip to tail.
